Curriculum

Welcome to the Curriculum Page of the Colorado River Knowledge is catching, and the chase is on!Union High School District #2’s Web site!

When you are here you will learn that Learning is our Business! and Student Success is our Goal!

Our District’s Mission is to help all students become successful learners, caring individuals, and responsible citizens. All district personnel and affiliates are dedicated to the growth and development of each student and staff member as we enhance the learning capacity of every student through staff professional development and a coordinated curriculum with state standards-based lesson implementation. Assessments and data disaggregation assist teachers and staff in the determination of how to best address student needs with specificity to the individual. Tutorials, interventions, district wide programs, and after school tutoring enable the staff to provide quality instruction.

This picture to the right has hung in every classroom I've taught in. It represents teachers and students chasing knowledge. It is very important to remember that we must continue to work on and improve our knowledge.

Common Core State Standards Update

The Common Core State Standards were released on June 2, 2010. Please visit the ADE website for updates. You can click on the link for the Common Core State Standards on the home page or bookmark the page.

The public is invited to review the final version of the Common Core State Standards and make recommendations (via survey) on possible Arizona specific additions (maximum 15%). The survey can be accessed on the Common Core State Standards ADE page. Four webinars are scheduled during July (7, 8, 14, 21) to provide specific information about the Common Core Standards process in Arizona. The State Board of Education will review the Common Core State Standards and consider them for adoption at the June 28th State Board Meeting. They will consider the recommended Arizona specific additions at the August 23rd State Board Meeting.
